Natural Birds Eye
Birds Eye Maple is a highly sought after and rare wood which is native to Canadian climates. The reason these eyes develop is unknown, but its beauty is undeniable.
Although I do make some pens with exotic woods my speciality is to use Birds Eye Maple.

Cooked Birds Eye
Birds Eye Maple can be further accenuated by "cooking" a process known as Thermowood where it is put back into a kiln for a second time to dry it even further then remoisturized.
This process darkens and makes the wood more dense. The darkening of the wood only accenuates the eyes even further. The increased density of the wood improves the finish by providing even more gloss.
This process is unique currently only being done in one place in North America.
This makes a beatiful pen that is truly unique!
